Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid, addressed an altercation involving Aurélien Tchouaméni and Federico Valverde, as well as an incident where teammate Antonio Rüdiger slapped Álvaro Carreras. Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Pérez stated: “I’ve sacked three coaches in one year, and this isn’t the first time something like this has happened. It’s not the first time two players have clashed; they fight every season because they’re competitors. Regarding the scuffle between Valverde and Tchouaméni, he emphasized: “The leak is worse. I think it’s terrible, even worse when it’s made public. I’ve been here for 26 years, and not a single year has passed without two players fighting—or four. But I find it appalling that it’s been aired out.” He added: “They’ve been fighting every year since I’ve been here. Like youngsters, one kicks another, the other retaliates, and then they become friends.”
Pérez continued: “For me, the leak is worse because it suggests it’s more than just a fight. The next day they were friends and went for coffee together. I think it’s the first time in my 26-year history that I’ve seen something like this, and it worries me too.” He noted: “The press should analyze it, but they shouldn’t conclude that a fight between two players means chaos at Real Madrid. They fight every year, even every day. That’s all there is to it.”
He added: “If someone inside the club leaked it to the public, that’s worse than the fight itself. They’re both excellent players, by the way, and outstanding. It was awful, and this is what destroys Real Madrid—it cannot be tolerated.
