Borussia Dortmund’s reserve team secured a 1-0 victory over Real Madrid’s U21 side in the final of the Super League International Cup, lifting the trophy on May 13.
The match’s decisive moment arrived within the first 10 minutes, when a quick buildup from goalkeeper Aaron Helder sparked the attack. Enzo Duarte provided the assist, and Etchi Braz found the back of the net to score the only goal of the contest.
With that strike, Etchi Braz finished as the tournament’s top scorer, netting five goals in six appearances. He surpassed Leipzig’s Ngacheu and Manchester United’s Scanlan in the race for the Golden Boot.
Dortmund II became the second German club to win the Super League International Cup. Notably, this U23 competition has seen German players claim the top scorer award in consecutive seasons. Last season, Berlin Hertha’s Ensar Aksakal also scored six goals to earn the honor.
