After a painful defeat at Camp Nou that handed Barcelona the La Liga title, Real Madrid coach Álvaro Arbeloa faced the press to address the heavy loss.

“I thought the elbow on Bellingham was clear, but congratulations to Barça for winning the league today,” Arbeloa said.
On Mbappé: “There are two weeks left, and we’ll see how his discomfort progresses to determine if he can play.”
On traveling despite discomfort: “I would have liked him to be at 100% and able to start from the beginning.”
On a tough week and a message to Madridistas: “We can’t say much because we understand the frustration and disappointment. We can only look to the future and learn from our mistakes this year. We always get back up, and I understand the fans’ anger.”
On the end of the season: “Our season ended today, but we can’t give up. We defend something much bigger than all of us: the Madrid crest. We have to show that we are truly hurting.”
On the future of Real Madrid: “It’s not for me to analyze, but we collectively need to step forward and have a clear idea of what we must do. For me, that’s the starting point, and we must learn from the many points we lost that we shouldn’t have. You can lose to Barça, but not to others.”
On his future as coach: “You know we will probably have a normal conversation with the club, but I want the team to finish well and not let go in these last three games. I’ll focus on the pitch, give minutes to those who haven’t had many.”
On Huijsen’s substitution: “He wanted to play, but he felt low on energy when he started warming up. In a match like this, we needed energy.”
